SUMMARY:Back to School 5k & Kickback
DESCRIPTION: The Back to School 5K & Kickback is a community event designed to challenge participants' fitness and promote social interaction within the Afro-Caribbean Black community in Ottawa. The event begins with a 5K race along the Rideau Canal at 10:30 AM, followed by a BBQ/mixer and field day at Britannia Beach starting at 2:00 PM. 



Participants will engage in a physical fitness challenge, enjoy delicious food, listen to music, and participate in fun summer games. The event aims to foster a sense of community and provide a platform for socializing and networking. 



Attendees can choose to participate in either the race, the BBQ/mixer, or both. Prizes will be awarded. This event is organized in support of the Umoja Black Community Engagement Program, Black Run NCR, and uOttawa's BSAAC and BSLA. 



The Run is free and the BBQ costs $20 + fee
