 <\/span>The Back to School 5K & Kickback is a community event designed to challenge participants’ fitness and promote social interaction within the Afro-Caribbean Black community in Ottawa. The event begins with a 5K race along the Rideau Canal at 10:30 AM, followed by a BBQ\/mixer and field day at Britannia Beach starting at 2:00 PM.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will engage in a physical fitness challenge, enjoy delicious food, listen to music, and participate in fun summer games. The event aims to foster a sense of community and provide a platform for socializing and networking.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees can choose to participate in either the race, the BBQ\/mixer, or both. Prizes will be awarded. This event is organized in support of the Umoja Black Community Engagement Program, Black Run NCR, and uOttawa’s BSAAC and BSLA.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Run is free<\/strong> and the BBQ costs $20 + fee<\/p>\n\n\n\n
