The study may be in any discipline. Preference is given to candidates with personal ancestral ties to the Middle Passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"selection-process\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selection Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of Student Affairs &amp; Student Life to a full or part-time student in demonstrated financial need who is enrolled in any undergraduate degree program and is involved in student leadership, development, extracurricular activities, or community service opportunities. Eligible recipients will be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet OSAP&#8217;s Ontario Residency requirements. Endowed in 1999 by June Y. Girvan. Revised in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xxmsonormal\"><span style=\"color: black\">One recipient of this award will be selected by a selection committee* with membership as indicated below.
