As outlined by <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/leader\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton&#8217;s Leader Philosophy, Principles and Impact<\/a>; leadership is about influence and impact. It is about individual self-awareness, engaging others in the pursuit of excellence and fostering a collective&nbsp;sense of Carleton University\u2019s vision and mission while recognizing the diverse ways in which students may contribute to a positive future for our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Student Experience Office strives to assist students further their leadership abilities while also rewarding them for their positive contributions to our campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"life-skills-101-podcast\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Life Skills 101 Podcast<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The<em> Life Skills 101 Podcast<\/em> is a series of episodes that connects Carleton University students with the stories and life experiences of Carleton Alumni. In each episode, a featured alumnus discusses their successes and challenges to offer current students insight for building persistence and capacity, and provide a space for skill development and reflection among listeners.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button \" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/seo\/life-skills-101-podcast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Life Skills 101 Podcast<\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 id=\"soar-student-leadership-conference\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">SOAR Student Leadership Conference<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An annual conference for student leaders at Carleton University where&nbsp;attendees are challenged and inspired to develop their leadership skills through informative and interactive workshops and presentations. Each year brings a new keynote speaker to Carleton Campus to share their experience and advice for students in attendance. Past keynote speakers have include Martin Luther King III, Adrienne Clarkson, and Andre De Grasse.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button \" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/seo\/soar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SOAR Student Leadership Conference<\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 id=\"student-life-awards\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Life Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A set of financial awards that have been established by Carleton University Alumni and stakeholders that serve the purpose of recognizing students for their significant and impactful contributions to the Carleton community.
