General Deferred Exam Information<\/h2>\n

Please note that students are required to be familiar with the\u00a0Examination Regulations<\/a>\u00a0section of the University Academic Regulations as well as\u00a0general information<\/a>\u00a0regarding examinations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Deferred Exam Schedule<\/h2>\n

Deferred Exam Schedule will be released one week<\/strong><\/span> before the first day of the exam period.<\/p>\n

You can access the deferred exam schedule in Carleton Exam Schedule<\/a> page and select \u201cShow Deferrals<\/em>\u201d in the drop-down menu on the upper right corner above the schedule.\u00a0 The deferred exam schedule information for Fall (January), Winter (May), Early Summer (July) and Full\/Late Summer (September) terms can also be found in Carleton Central<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Application and Approval Status<\/h2>\n

The Registrar\u2019s Office sends email confirmation of your deferral application \u2013 if you have applied for a deferral and have not received email confirmation, please check your junk folder and if necessary, contact the Registrar\u2019s Office by email at deferral@carleton.ca<\/a> or by telephone at (613) 520-3500.<\/p>\n

If you have a course approved for deferral, but the deferred examination is not found in the deferred examination schedule, please contact Scheduling and Examination Services at onlineexams@carleton.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paul Menton Centre (PMC) Accommodations<\/h2>\n

If you are registered with the Paul Menton Centre (PMC) and have exam accommodations, these details can be found in Ventus<\/a> and will be sent to you by email two days before your scheduled examination.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Deferred Exam Day Information<\/h2>\n

All courses that had formally scheduled final exams held online will remain to be online for deferred, and those on campus (paper-based or digital) remain on campus<\/strong>, to provide the same environment as in final exams and for equity reasons.<\/p>\n

Access to Online Exams<\/h3>\n

Unless you have been otherwise informed by your instructor, online deferred exams will be held in Brightspace<\/a> in the page of the course that you have been granted approval.\u00a0 It will be made accessible at the time the exam is scheduled to open.<\/p>\n

Sudden Illness or Missed Deferral<\/h3>\n

You should assess your medical situation and well-being prior to entering the examination room.\u00a0 You are expected to complete a deferred examination once started.\u00a0 If you experience a significant deterioration of your health while the examination is in progress or have missed a deferral due to other reasons, please submit an Undergraduate Academic Petition to the Registrar\u2019s Office in order to explain the circumstances.
