Peer Support Volunteers Call-Out!
Carleton’s Sexual Assault Support Services is looking to expand our community of peer support volunteers!

About the Peer Support Program
The peer support program is run out of the Department of Equity Services (503 Robertson Hall). The goal of the program is to have a student peer supporter available during the majority of business hours (8:30-4:30) so that students who come to the office looking for support have the option of speaking with a trained peer. Volunteers are asked to provide a minimum of 2 hours per week.

Volunteers are provided with 35 hours of training on how to provide survivor-centered support to survivors of sexual violence. The training is completed from a trauma-informed perspective, and includes sections on anti-oppressive practices and intersectionality.

Through this program, you are able to connect with your peers in meaningful ways, and develop new skill sets that you may not learn in the classroom. You are also able to add the volunteer experience to your resume and co-curricular record.
