Research in the Lab<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

We conduct research to identify factors associated with the onset and maintenance of sexually harmful behaviours with the ultimate goal of informing effective prevention programs. The landscape is ever changing, so the research conducted in the lab is sensitive to new trends. For example, the use of the internet to commit sexual offences and the non-consensual sharing of sexual materials sent through sexting. We also investigate whether the current findings in the field replicated to subgroups of offending behaviours, such as incest, and underrepresented populations.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Our research strives to go beyond cross-sectional and individual-focused designs to studies that examine all systems of influences using longitudinal studies, population-based studies, and family-based studies. We harness the latest methodological and statistical developments. We both quantitative and qualitative analyses. We also collaborative approach to research to allow for impactful studies with uptake. Our research involve connections with academia, industries, and government whether in the actual study design or after the fact through knowledge translation efforts.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
