Flip-flops, latches, sequential circuits, state graphs and state minimization. Counters, registers, and memory. Hazards. Asynchronous sequential circuits, race free assignment, realization.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.carleton.ca\/calendars\/ugrad\/0910\/courses\/ELEC\/4601.html\"><strong>ELEC 4601<\/strong><\/a>: <em>Microprocessor Systems<\/em>, Fall Semesters, (2022 &amp; 2024 &#8211; to date)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Interfacing aspects in microprocessor systems. Microprocessors and bus structures, internal architecture, instruction set and pin functions. Memory interfacing, input-output, interrupts, direct memory accesses, special processors and multiprocessor systems.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.carleton.ca\/calendars\/ugrad\/0910\/courses\/ELEC\/3500.html\">ELEC 3500<\/a><\/strong>: Digital Electronics (2025 &#8211; to date)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Digital circuit design using Verilog\/SystemVerilog and logic synthesis, the electronic properties of logic gates, electrical interfacing between logic families, asynchronous to synchronous interfacing, clock distribution and timing, VLSI design options. Students implement substantial circuits with field-programmable gate arrays.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www3.carleton.ca\/calendars\/ugrad\/0910\/courses\/ELEC\/4706.html\"><strong>ELEC 4706<\/strong><\/a>: <em>High-Speed Electronics: Circuits and Systems, <\/em>Winter Semesters, (2022 &#8211; 2024)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Challenges faced in designing high-speed electronic circuits and systems. Fundamentals of high-speed digital circuit design and data transfer architectures including timing, drivers, interface to high-speed components, channel modelling, power distribution, clock and data recovery.
