NOTE: All students are admitted into the Coursework option in the first instance, and that option is the standard MA.
In order to be admitted into the Research Essay or Thesis option, you must apply and be approved by the Graduate Committee once you are in the program. You must have excellent grades in the program and write a clear and sophisticated proposal (deadlines TBA) in order to apply.
The Graduate Committee then assesses your grades and the short proposal and decides on whether or not to admit you to the Research paper or Thesis option.
