On June 9th 2022, SIM Lab Co-Director Sarah Todd<\/a> and Lab Research Manager Katherine Occhiuto<\/a> presented at the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education\u2019s (STLHE)<\/strong> 2022 Annual Conference<\/a> in Ottawa, Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation, titled Teaching for Uncertainty: Preparing for Interracial Counselling<\/strong>, highlighted what social work professionals and students might need to increase their competence for more effective practice across interracial and intercultural difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This presentation shared preliminary findings from our project (PI: Dr. Sarah Todd), \u201cKnowing and Not Knowing: Navigating Uncertainty in Social Work Practice\u201d and offered key pedagogical implications around teaching social workers how to navigate uncertainty around racial, ethnic and cultural differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
