The statement comes after a flareup in fighting in eastern DRC that has killed hundred and wounded thousands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Jan. 31, 2025 the rebel group known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.securitycouncilreport.org\/whatsinblue\/2025\/01\/democratic-republic-of-congo-briefing.php\">March 23 Movement (M23)<\/a> captured the city of Goma in the eastern DRC.
