Dr. Tracey P. Lauriault spend most of last week, March 2–6, talking Data Data, Data & Technology!
Monday, Dr. Lauriault participated as a member of the Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Open Government to two Public Consultations on Open Data & Climate Change. There are more of these across the country so please join in person or comment online so that together we can improve the plan.
On Wednesday and Thursday Dr. Lauriault gave 2 consecutive lunch keynotes at the Policy Community Conference 2020 on how to apply a Social and Technical approach to understanding data in the public service. You can access her slides here. As part of the conference she also led two ‘Small Talk’ Sessions with early career public servants, about sharing in the non-profit sector and the saving the Census Coalition. She also teamed up with a group of people in a Gender++ Escape Room activity – apparently that team clocked the best time – but who’s counting 😉 And on Friday Morning she attended her first in person breakfast meeting as a member of the Policy Community’s External Advisory Panel.
And finally, on Friday night, she was a post radio play panelist about virtual reality platform capitalism. She highly recommends it, so go check out Strata.inc – it elicited important ethical, social and economic questions about technology politics and governance.
