Prof. Tracey P. Lauriault will be onstage at the Museum of Science and Technology with Marc René de Cotret, director of service transformation at the City of Ottawa, as part of the Curiosity on Stage Series to discuss her work on the Open Smart Cities Guide V 1.0 developed with OpenNorth. The discussion will centre on contemporary smart cities models and suggest one that is more open, fair, ethical and accountable, to ensure that the city’s ‘smart’ strategies are in the public interest and are co-governed with residents to solve social, economic and environmental issues.
