The Communication & Media Studies program’s committee on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is seeking student representatives for the 2020–21 academic year.

The committee has a broad mandate to review matters related to recruitment and retention, curricula, governance, and departmental culture with an anti-racism lens. We will be launching discussions and consultations with students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

One undergraduate student enrolled in the B.CoMS program and one graduate student enrolled in either the MA or PhD program in Communication will be selected to assist in planning and carrying out these activities, and drafting recommendations in response. An honorarium will be provided to each representative, and additional paid work as a research assistant supporting our consultations may also be available.

Please submit a brief cover letter outlining your interest in and qualifications for the position, along with a current resume or curriculum vitae to Palwasha Asey (palwasha.asey@carleton.ca) by Friday, October 23, 2020. Clearly indicate in the subject line whether you are applying for the role of graduate or undergraduate representative. Questions about the position may be directed to committee chair Benjamin Woo (benjamin.woo@carleton.ca).
