Moira Farr

Biography

Moira Farr is a journalist and author whose essays and articles have appeared in numerous publications, including The Globe and Mail, The Ottawa Citizen, The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, Reader’s Digest and This Magazine. She has taught “Freelance Writing for Magazines” at Carleton for centuries. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to delve into a research project on the subject of how artificial light has affected lives since introduced centuries ago (around the time she began teaching at Carleton) – broadly, she plans to explore evolving light technology, pro and con, and its uses in a wide range of fields, from art and architecture to urban design to medicine. She hopes to narrow her focus once studies officially begin.
