Heather McLaughlin

Biography

Heather McLaughlin (she/her) graduated from Carleton University in 2021 with a double major in Communication and Media Studies and Psychology. Among her many research interests, Heather is interested in the privacy and algorithmic influences of digital platforms, the emergence of wellness and mental health platforms in health care, and the impacts of social media infrastructures on diverse and intersectional identities. Heather is currently the Operations Lead at Frayme, a national knowledge mobilization network of youth mental health and substance use experts, service providers, researchers, policy-makers, advocates and people with lived experience that works to disseminate best practices and evidence to improve the system of care and health outcomes for youth and their families across Canada. When not working or studying, Heather enjoys reading books and comics, watches far too much Netflix, and is a karaoke enthusiast.
