Morgan Jones

Biography

Morgan is a Carleton University graduate where she earned her Bachelor of Communications and Media Studies Honours degree and was awarded the Senate’s Medal in 2022. She spent the last year completing her undergraduate thesis, where she explored data related to online work and learning. In that paper she sought to highlight the exacerbation of the digital divide and the existence of a second-order disaster, resulting from Canada’s COVID-19 pandemic response, to understand the reciprocity between digital and social inequality.

Her academic interests are vast, including data science, sound studies, visual media, social movements, mass media and the shaping of the individual and collective identity, and the pervasiveness of stereotyped representations across media formats.
