Katherine Lissitsa

Biography

Katherine currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Montreal’s Concordia University, during which she also completed a 6-month student exchange in Copenhagen, Denmark, studying Corporate Communications. Armed with production skills and media-related insight, she is now eager to dive into the new and exciting field of journalism in the hopes of melting the two mediums towards which she gravitates to the most: writing and photography. With the guidance of the MJ program, she wishes to explore her penchant for textual and visual storytelling through subject matter pertaining to gender identity, sexuality, feminism, visual arts and culture. Additionally, Katherine has worked in photographic post-production, has done freelance photography, interned at a social media marketing agency and is currently working as a Communications Coordinator at Kids Code Jeunesse – a non-profit that aims at bringing computational thinking and coding into schools across Canada.
