Alyssa MacDougall graduated from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2014 with a BA (hons) in religion and philosophy. She then completed a Master’s degree in Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario in 2016. Her major research paper focused on the dynamic of political rhetoric and public opinion via an analysis of Facebook comments on mass media news articles about “Clock Boy,” Ahmed Mohamed. Alyssa is interested in continuing her work on the spread of Islamophobia on social networks, especially as it concerns and impacts policy decisions.
