Benjamin has a passion for bringing to the forefront all issues associated with international development. He holds an MA in International Law and International Politics from Universite de Sherbrooke, where he discovered his interest for international trade and natural resources governance in developing economies. Benjamin wrote several op-ed articles for prominent Canadian media outlets, such as The Hill Times and Le Devoir, regarding Canada’s global leadership in the mining industry and extractive resource governance in Africa and Latin America. Given his fascination for this field, Benjamin is looking forward to developing the skills to report on the global extractive industry, particularly Canadian mining’s commercial activities throughout Sub Saharan Africa and Latin America. Benjamin is also pursuing a collaborative MA in African Studies in order to become an informative voice in debates addressing mining governance in Sub-Saharan Africa.
