Raisa Patel

Biography

BA Hons (Psychology), University of Ottawa; Diploma (Professional Writing), Algonquin College

An Ottawa native, Raisa obtained a BA with a specialization in Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2013. After zeroing in on her desire to write for and about the world, she completed a Professional Writing diploma at Algonquin College in 2015. Raisa has worked in live television production, web content editing, and writing and researching for a variety of platforms in the non-profit and educational sectors.

Particularly inspired by her experiences working with underserved populations, Raisa is primarily interested in exploring the existence and intersectionality of marginalized identities through a political and sociocultural lens.
