Nicole Rutherford

Biography

B.A. Anthropology & Professional Writing, University of Victoria

Nicole grew up in a bilingual household in Victoria, B.C. and was fortunate enough to be exposed to cultural diversity from a young age through travel with her family. From these experiences she developed a thirst for people’s stories, and has sought them out by going on backpacking trips, working in the Athlete’s Village at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, contributing to various UVic newspapers, writing blogs for her capital city’s tourism industry, maintaining her own personal blogs, and freelance writing. She hopes to become an international reporter and use her talents to give a voice to those who struggle to get their messages out on their own.
