Nikki Wiart is a freelance journalist with roots in the small town of Castor, Alta. She spent over two years working as a producer at Global News in Edmonton, as well as volunteering as a reporter at CJSR, a community radio station. She has written for The Walrus, Avenue Magazine, CBC Aboriginal, and BuzzFeed Canada. She’s the 2015 recipient of an Emerge Media Award in the Written Word category and the Canadian Journalism Foundation’s Aboriginal Journalism Fellowship. Nikki is interested in aboriginal policy issues and international affairs.
