Journalism and Communication, Carleton University.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(47, 85, 151)\" data-ogsb=\"white\">She holds an M.A. in Communication (Distinction) from Hong Kong Baptist University and an Honours B.A. in Communication Studies (Highest Honours) from Carleton University.\u00a0Previously working as a digital marketing professional in Beijing, Xiaofei\u2019s works address\u00a0<\/span><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(47, 85, 151)\" data-ogsb=\"white\">the shifting business models and growing monopolistic power of the leading internet companies in both rural and urban China. Her current research looks into the platform ecosystem of the Chinese e-commerce livestreaming, examining how it connects digital cultural production with offline manufacturing and agriculture and how it facilitates a Chinese version of platformization.
