Two Carleton Journalism and Communication students have been awarded 2022 Emerge Media Awards.<\/p>\n

The annual awards, sponsored and hosted by the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto, celebrate and showcase the achievements of Canadian postsecondary students in journalism, photography, graphic design and communications disciplines.<\/p>\n

Isaac Phan Nay<\/p><\/div>\n

Spencer Colby, a fourth-year Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies student, won first place in the photojournalism category for his piece 2021: A Year in Review.<\/a><\/em> Colby is a Photo Editor at The Charlatan Newspaper and Freelance Photojournalist. No stranger to winning, he also took home this award in 2021.<\/p>\n

Isaac Phan Nay, a third-year Bachelor of Journalism student, won second place in the Written Word: Feature story category. His piece, Paved Paradise: The fate of the Kilborn Allotment Gardens<\/em><\/a> spoke to the plan to pave over one of Ottawa’s community gardens.<\/p>\n
