Model: Model 3<\/span><\/p>\n

The Monarch Typewriter Company<\/em> was founded in 1904 by the Union Typewriter Company.<\/span> The Union Typewriter Company has many <\/span>subsidiaries<\/span> such as <\/span>R<\/span><\/span>emington, Smith Premier, American Writing Machine, Yost, and Densmore.<\/span><\/span> Each typewriter featured long levers, straight line <\/span>pulls,<\/span> and <\/span>fulcrum.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first Monarch was released in 1905 and production ended in 1939. Model 3 is <\/span>similar to<\/span> Remington’s<\/span> N<\/span>o<\/span><\/a>. 1 in design but with <\/span>slight differences<\/span> s<\/span>uch as the <\/span>structure<\/span> of the base. <\/span>Each Model 3 reads \u201cThe Monarch Typewrite Company\u201d or <\/span>\u201cThe<\/span> Monarch Typewriter\u201d as the Monarch became more of a brand than a corporate identity. <\/span>Model 3 features a <\/span><\/span>Sans ribbon selector<\/span>, <\/span>tab key,<\/span> and<\/span> the basic 38-key model<\/span>. This specific typewriter is the <\/span><\/span>Canadian Model<\/span>, which was made from<\/span> 1939<\/span> to <\/span>1940.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
