The founders were <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\">Winthrop <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5021531 BCX0\">Withington<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\">, Philip H. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW5021531 BCX0\">Whithton<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\"> and William Sparks.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\"> On January 20, 1930, they bought a building in<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\">London, Ontario<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW5021531 BCX0\"> and began producing radios in Canada. They closed in 1978; however, they currently design and manufacture avionics, defense, medical and industrial electronic devices.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW186368932 BCX0\">The Sparton Model 5150 Radio was a broadcast <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW186368932 BCX0\">receiver<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW186368932 BCX0\"> or WW2 Tunder.
