Dr. Lauriault is a leading scholar in data governance, open data, open smart cities, digital twins and digital sovereignty. The <a href=\"https:\/\/gogeomatics.ca\/final-results-in-these-are-the-winners-of-canadas-national-geomatics-awards-2025\/\"><strong>Thought Leadership Award<\/strong><\/a> recognizes individuals whose ideas, research, and advocacy are shaping Canada\u2019s geomatics vision and knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Lauriault&#8217;s focus is on making data and technological systems more just, fair, secure, inclusive and sustainable and for the public good. Her work with the <a href=\"https:\/\/cims.carleton.ca\/project\/imagining_canada's_digital_twin\">Carleton Immersive Media Studio National (CIMS) National Digital Twin<\/a> project, the preservation of geospatial data with the <a href=\"https:\/\/interparestrustai.org\/\">I Trust AI Project<\/a>, and ongoing advocacy for open data, open science, open government, and the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure are recognized as these advance Canada\u2019s Geomatics vision and knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gogeomatics.ca\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-23360 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sjc\/wp-content\/uploads\/geomatics-canada-300x117.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sjc\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/geomatics-canada-300x117.png 300w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sjc\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/geomatics-canada.png 396w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>GoGeomatics Canada<\/a> is a community driven effort to promote and organize the geospatial community from the grassroots.\u00a0GoGeomatics also produces the most popular <a href=\"https:\/\/gogeomatics.ca\/magazines\/\">magazines<\/a> in Canada\u2019s geospatial sector and hosts and convenes hundreds of events to grow the geomatics community and position Canada as a leader in the field.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gogeomatics.ca\/final-results-in-these-are-the-winners-of-canadas-national-geomatics-awards-2025\/\"><strong>National Geomatics Awards<\/strong><\/a> recognize leadership, innovation, and community impact across the country\u2019s geomatics and geospatial sector. They highlight outstanding contributions and honour achievements in five categories spanning government, private companies, researchers, educators, and thought leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The initial nominations featured a distinguished group of contenders from across Canada for the outstanding work they have done in their respective fields, with winners ultimately chosen through community
