Tracey P. Lauriault, Associate Professor, Critical Media and Big Data, School of Journalism and Communication, Carleton University, has been appointed as a member of the Expert Panel on the State of Citizen Science in Canada at the Council of Canadian Academies (CCA). See the full announcement here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Panel is tasked by Public Services and Procurement Canada to answer the question:<\/p>\n

What is the current state of citizen science in Canada and how does it compare internationally?<\/em><\/p>\n

As a member of the expert panel, Dr. Lauriault will be making an invaluable contribution to evidence-based policy in Canada. It is through the hard work of expert panel members who donate their time and expertise that the CCA is able to produce high-quality assessments that the federal government and others have come to rely on to inform decision making.<\/p>\n
