She has been a journalist with CBC and CTV and a freelance foreign correspondent based in Rome. She’s\u00a0currently a journalism professor at Centennial College in Toronto. And now Ellin Bessner (BJ ’83) has added “author” to her list of credits.<\/p>\n
Her first book \u2013 called\u00a0Double Threat: Canadian Jews, the Military and WWII<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 was recently published. Bessner says it tells\u00a0the stories of the 17,000 Canadian Jews who put on a uniform, and helped defeat Hitler and rescue the survivors of the Holocaust.<\/p>\n Double Threat\u00a0is published by\u00a0New Jewish Press, a division of the University of Toronto’s Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Bessner\u2019s writing brings this part of our history out of the shadows.
