The prizes are to be awarded to students enrolled in subjects related to Italian and Italian-Canadian Studies (language, literature, culture and history) and students of related subject areas. At Carleton University, students of Italian origin, irrespective of courses of study, can apply for these awards. At the University of Ottawa, special consideration will be given to students of Italian origin and students who have been active in the Italian community.
These awards are awarded annually, at both universities, and are restricted to full-time undergraduate students, who are in good academic standing and in need of financial assistance. Students who meet these criteria are encouraged to apply at their respective student awards/assistance offices.

Notice to the Community
Applications for the Giovanni Caboto Awards at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa
This is to remind and encourage students at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa who may qualify for these awards to apply as soon as possible. Applications will be accepted through to the 15th of November 2018. This is the twentieth time that these prizes are being awarded and their value will vary depending on the amount the endowed funds permit.
These awards were established by the National Congress of Italian Canadians Foundation (Eastern Ontario and Outaouais District) and by The National Congress of Italian Canadians (National Capital District). We hope other associations and individuals will contribute to these funds, making this undertaking more effective in meeting its objectives. The objectives are to encourage Italian Canadians to pursue higher education and to encourage more widespread study of Italian and of Italian-Canadian culture and related studies.
In closing, we urge students to apply as soon as possible.

Les prix sont décernés aux étudiants qui sont inscrits à des programmes liés à l’étude de l’italien ou de la culture et de l’histoire italo-canadiennes ou à d’autres programmes d’études connexes. À l’Université Carleton, les étudiants d’origine italienne, inscrits à n’importe quel programme d’études, sont admissibles à l’une de ces bourses. À l’Université d’Ottawa, une attention particulière sera accordée aux étudiants d’origine italienne et aux étudiants qui participent à la vie de la communauté italo-canadienne.
Ces prix sont décernés chaque année à des étudiants inscrits à des programmes de baccalauréat à temps plein, qui ont des bonnes notes et qui ont besoin d’une aide financière. Nous invitons les étudiants qui satisfont à ces critères à poser leur candidature aux bureaux des prêts-bourses.

Appel de candidatures pour l’obtention des bourses “Giovanni Caboto” à l’Université Carleton et à l’Université d’Ottawa
Nous désirons rappeler aux étudiants de l’Université Carleton et de l’Université d’Ottawa, qui pourraient être admissibles à l’une de ces bourses, de présenter leur demande aussitôt que possible. Les candidatures seront acceptées jusqu’au 15 Novembre 2018. C’est la vingtième fois que ces bourses sont décernées. La valeur en fonction de la disponibilité des fonds.
Ces prix ont été créès par la Fondation du Congrès national des Italo-Canadiens (District de l’Est ontarien et de l’Outaouais) et par le Congrès national des Italo-Canadiens (District de la capitale nationale). Nous espérons que d’autres associations ou particuliers contribueront au fonds, ce qui nous aidera à atteindre nos objectifs. Par ces prix nous souhaitons encourager les Italo-Canadiens à poursuivre des études universitaires et favoriser l’étude de la langue et de la culture italiennes et des disciplines connexes.

Le borse saranno assegnate agli studenti iscritti ai corsi d’italianistica o di studi italo-canadesi (lingua, letteratura,cultura, e storia) o a studenti iscritti a corsi di discipline connesse. All’Università Carleton gli studenti di origine italiana, anche se iscritti ad altri programmi, possono ugualmente fare domanda. All’Università di Ottawa considerazione speciale verrà data agli studenti di origine italiana e agli studenti che sono stati attivi nella comunità italo-canadese.
Queste borse sono conferite annualmente a studenti di livello “undergraduate” che frequentano l’università a tempo pieno, che hanno una buona media e che hanno bisogno di assistenza finanziaria. I candidati sono pregati di fare domanda presso gli appositi ufffici universitari.

Vogliamo ricordare ed incoraggiare gli studenti iscritti all’Università Carleton e all’Università di Ottawa, che hanno i requisiti richiesti, di far domanda al più presto possibile. Le domande saranno accettate fino al 15 Novembre 2018. Questa é la ventesima volta che queste borse sono conferite. Il valore di ogni borsa é secondo a la disponibilità dei fondi.
Queste borse sono state istituite dalla Fondazione del Congresso Nazionale degli Italo Canadesi (distretto dell’Ontario dell’est e della Regione Outaouais) e dal Congresso Nazionale degli Italo Canadesi (distretto della Capitale). Si spera che altri enti e individui contribuiranno a questi fondi per favorire ed incoraggiare più italo-canadesi a proseguire gli studi universitari e per favorire gli studi d’italianistica e gli studi connessi alla nostra lingua e cultura.
