In this panel discussion, Debbie Owusu-Akyeeah and Greg Owens will provide an important discussion about mental health and wellness, specifically as it pertains to graduate students at Carleton. Debbie and Greg seek to make visible the many intersectional factors that impact mental health and push back against mental health stigmatization. Furthermore, the panelists will share mental health and wellness resources available to graduate students on- and off-campus, as well as highlight some of the initiatives that centre the health and well-being of graduate students – i.e. “The Grad Wellness Group” and “The Student Alliance for Mental Health”. The panel will end with an informal question and answer period.
The event is open to all graduate students, staff, and faculty members in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology.
