Contract Instructor Opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology (SOAN) invites applications from members of the CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach courses in SOAN as a contract instructor (CI) during the Fall 2026-Winter 2027 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stipends for the 2026-2027 Academic year:<\/u><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

$18,508 for full credit courses (1.0) and $9,255 for half credit courses (0.5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Please note all the courses listed below are 0.5 half credit courses.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheduling<\/u><\/strong>: The modality of these courses is determined by the University (in-person, online, or hybrid). Detailed course scheduling is not known currently. Applicants will be notified of the timing of the course when presented with an offer to teach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TA Support:<\/u><\/strong> Please note that anticipated TA support is based on anticipated enrollment and may change based on actual enrollment in a course.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span> Applicants should hold an MA or higher degree, normally in the discipline(s) under which the course is listed and demonstrate sufficient scholarly background and expertise to teach competently in the specific area that the course covers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
