Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/socanth\/people\/alexis-shotwell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alexis Shotwell<\/a> and undergraduate student Felicity Hauwert, the current <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/socanth\/information-for-students\/undergraduate-students\/student-association\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SASA<\/a> President, will be working together to research the state of the field of teaching writing within the social sciences, hear from undergraduates and faculty about how writing is currently learned in our programs, prepare a preliminary syllabus for a new course aimed at teaching writing to first and second year students in the department, and collect research material that would benefit both faculty and students as they think about the process of learning the craft of university-level writing.
