This grant will support the development of SOCI 2820: Foundations in Community Engagement, being taught in Winter 2021. Felicity will research the current state of community-engaged teaching and learning in online settings, develop and conduct a student focus group, participate in the development of the syllabus and support the creation of opportunities for students to participate in a small community engagement effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/socanth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/111\/Rhys2-240x242.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13162\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Undergraduate student Rhys Wawia and Phillip Primeau have also secured a SaPP grant for the Fall 2020 term. Rhys and Phillip will be producing a podcast mini-series for a course offered in the Winter term. The project will critically examine technological, social and political dimensions of key turning points in the practice of recording music and radio for broadcast. Together, Rhys and Phillip will produce Open Source learning modules alongside a series of publicly available podcast episodes.
