\n Congratulations to Anthropology Professor Marie-Eve Carrier-Moisan who has been named the new Joint Chair in Women’s Studies at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Marie-Eve Carrier-Moisan has been named the new Joint Chair in Women’s Studies at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. She started her 2-year mandate July 1st , 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working in both French and English, the incumbent of the Joint Chair in Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, teaches, engages in research and participates in appropriate committees and events on both campuses. She acts as a resource person on women’s issues and feminist research at both universities. She also establishes and maintains contact with local, regional, national and international feminist educational and community-based organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her mandate as Joint Chair in Women\u2019s Studies, Dr. Carrier-Moisan will propose various events on the theme of \u201cMultimodal Scholarships and Feminist, Public Knowledges\u201d. These events will be opportunities to learn and reflect together on creative and multimodal approaches to feminist research and ways of doing and telling research otherwise, drawing inspiration from emerging practices that tend to decenter dominant modes of scientific knowledges and to expand the possibilities of accessible, feminist, anti-racist, decolonial knowledges. She invites members of the student and faculty community, as well as feminist activists, artists, and scholars to join her in the various events and activities she will be organizing at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Carrier-Moisan will also be teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, (including in English) at Carleton University, \u201cStorying otherwise: feminist scholarships through (ethno)graphic narratives\u201d\u00a0and in French, at the University of Ottawa, \u201cRaconter la recherche autrement: approches cr\u00e9atives et multimodales des savoirs f\u00e9ministes<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reminder that there will be a breakfast reception to bid farewell to the esteemed outgoing Joint Chair in Women\u2019s Studies, Nadia Abu-Zahra, and to extend a warm welcome to the incoming Chair, Marie-Eve Carrier-Moisan. This event will be an opportunity to celebrate their contributions and achievements in the field of Women’s Studies and to usher in a new chapter in our departments.
