Bachelor of Social Work Admission Information
The next admission cycle will be for the fall of 2018. All applicants will need to apply online by February 1, 2018 and send their Supplementary Application in hard copy by March 1, 2018 in order to be considered for admission.
Please Note: A Police Records Check is Required for current BSW Students on Practicum https://carleton.ca/socialwork/note-on-police-records-check/
BSW Applicant Evaluation:
– Grades (average should be a minimum of 75% overall whether you are applying from high school, college or university (Carleton included)
– the amount and quality of human service/social change work experience (both paid and unpaid)
–essay question responses

All applicants will apply online through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC) unless they are a current or previous Carleton University student.

Current Carleton students (in any program) use the “Internal Application for Admission” in their Carleton Central.
All applicants must send the completed hardcopy BSW Supplementary Application, to the School of School Work, by March 1 (If the 1st of March falls on a weekend or holiday, Supplementary Applications must be received by the following regular working day). Please follow instructions found in BSW Supplementary Application Guidelines
Each fall term, we admit students into the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of our program, depending on what/if any transfer credit(s) are awarded from applicants’ previous post-secondary studies.
Year one applicants (those who are applying for direct entry into the BSW program from High School or with no previous post-secondary studies) can expect their decisions in mid-April. Year two and three applicants can expect their decisions in mid-May.
All decisions are final. The School of Social Work does not have an appeals process.
