Sarah Tarshis is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the SIM Social Work Research Lab. Sarah received her PhD from the University of Toronto and MSW from New York University. She has over a decade of social work practice experience and has worked for several community-based organizations in Montreal, New York, and Toronto.
During her doctoral studies at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, Sarah supported a variety of simulation-based research projects. She also integrates simulation-based teaching and learning into her teaching pedagogy to support students as they learn and conceptualize social work practice.
In addition to her work in simulation, Sarah’s research focus centers on intimate partner violence (IPV) and access to services, intersectionality and intersectional practice approaches, and trauma-informed practice.
