I spent the next 13 years working in healthcare, first as a frontline social worker and then in various leadership and management positions. After leaving the hospital, I spent two years working as a social worker at a Family Health Team, my private practice, and as a Contract Instructor at Carleton. I started the Ph.D. program in 2022 while continuing to see clients in my practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I live in Carp, a lovely little village outside of Ottawa, with my family and our dog, Murphy. I enjoy hiking, sewing, reading, and spending time at the cottage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Research Interests:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Health care access, discrimination, and equity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthcare funding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mental health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fatphobia and diet culture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My Research:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working in the healthcare system has inspired my future doctoral research.
