They live and work on the unceded, unsurrendered traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg Algonquin nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dillon is the Manager of Culture, Equity, and Belonging at Queensway Carleton Hospital, where they work to foster an inclusive and trauma-informed healthcare environment. With over a decade of experience supporting equity-deserving communities\u2014including 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, young people, and survivors of gender-based violence\u2014Dillon is committed to anti-oppressive practices, trauma-informed care, and community-based approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are also so honoured to be part of the wonderful faculty&nbsp;at Carleton University&#8217;s School of Social Work, where they teach courses on social work ethics, values, gender, and sexuality, and supervise BSW and MSW student practicums. Dillon is currently pursuing their PhD in Criminology and Surveillance Studies at the University of Ottawa, focusing on gender identity and human rights law and policy in an increasingly polarizing context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dillon&#8217;s work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the CBC Trailblazer Award, and they have been appointed to several national and international advisory committees, such as the United Nations Delegation for the Commission on the Status of Women and the Prime Minister\u2019s Gender Equality Advisory Council for the G7.
