Jamie Desautels graduated from the Master of Public Policy and Administration program in June 2020, receiving a Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Given Jamie’s background in health sciences, she immediately took an interest in courses such as Health Policy, Health Economics and Global Health Policy. She also pursued co-op placements at Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada where she continues to work as a Policy Analyst in the Office of International Affairs for the Health Portfolio. A highlight of Jamie’s time at Carleton was conducting research in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut on access to country food as a part of a Major Research Project. Jamie hopes to continue studying food security in the Arctic and the behavioural economics of food choice.
