By attending this workshop, participants will gain foundational knowledge and insight into fostering inclusivity and accessibility. This workshop will empower participants with practical techniques and insights to integrate accessibility principles into their daily lives and roles at Carleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"learning-outcomes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning Outcomes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of this workshop, staff and faculty will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recognize the significance of accessibility including some models of disability and their relevance to students, faculty, and staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize and identify instances of ableism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reflect on personal attitudes and biases towards disability and integrate these reflections into personal and professional growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in collaborative sessions with peers and colleagues to exchange ideas and share successful strategies for advancing accessibility initiatives within their respective departments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"what-to-expect-at-the-session\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to expect at the session<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Session length: 2 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop may include the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Periods of sitting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listening to a facilitator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discussion and interaction with colleagues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Viewing a multimedia presentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Carleton University embraces diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
