Once you reach 2.0 credits (4 courses in the Fee Estimator) per term, students are charged the full-fee\u00a0flat rate for their program. Subsequent courses above 2.0 credits will not result in additional tuition fees. However, summer term is always assessed on a per-course basis regardless of the number of courses.<\/p>\n For Graduate<\/strong>\u00a0students, including students in the thesis pathway,<\/strong> tuition is assessed based primarily on your status. For part-time graduate<\/strong> student, the number of courses does not refer to the sum of the courses you are registered in. The fee is based on the total of billing hours. If the total of your term\u2019s registration is less than 0.60 billing hours, select 1 for the \u2018number of courses\u2019 field in the fee estimator. If the total of your term\u2019s registration is equal to or greater than 0.60 billing hours, select 2 courses. Graduate students with full-time <\/strong>status are charged full-fee flat rate regardless of the number of courses they are registered in.<\/p>\n For Graduate<\/strong> students in the non-thesis program<\/strong>, fees are charged on a per-credit basis. Input the number of courses you wish to register in for the term in the ‘Number of courses’ field on the Fee Estimator.<\/p>\n Students in the Specialty programs <\/strong>follow a different fee structure. For tuition fee estimate, <\/strong>select \u2018Specialty Program Graduate Student Fees\u2019 <\/strong>under the corresponding term using this link Tuition Fees – Student Accounts Receivable<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/dd> <\/p>\n Students registered in 2.0 credits or more, are charged a full-fee flat rate. In other words, there are no additional charges or fee adjustments for registration changes between 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 credits per term (4, 5 or 6 courses per term) and you should select full-time.<\/p>\n Students registered in 1.5 credits or less are charged per credit and should select part-time.<\/p>\n If you are registered in 1.5 credits or more in the term, you need to select YES to include the UPass fee on the fee estimator.<\/p>\n Please select part-time as your status as all students are charged on a per credit basis for every course they add. If you are registering in more than 3 courses, estimate your fees for one course and multiply it by the number of courses you are planning on taking.<\/p>\n If you are taking 2 courses (1.0 credit) or more in the summer term, select YES to include the UPass fee on the fee estimator.<\/p>\n The Fee Estimator is available\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/dd> <\/p>\n For an estimate of the total cost of your program, you first need to know how many terms you are required to complete or the average number of terms it normally takes to complete the program. You can find this information on your program\u2019s departmental website (see: www.graduate.carleton.ca\/programs\/<\/a>) or by contacting the departmental administrator.<\/p>\n Each term is 4 months in length, and you may be required to study in all 3 terms of the year, fall (Sept \u2013 Dec), winter (Jan \u2013 Apr) and summer (May \u2013 Aug).<\/p>\n Once this information is available, you can then use the Online Fee Estimator for tuition estimate for a single term.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/dd> <\/p>\n When selecting the number of courses as a part-time graduate student, the number of courses does not refer to the sum of the courses you are registered in.
