Carleton University\u00a0has been\u00a0recognized\u00a0as a top performer in the\u00a02022 Sustainable Campus Index<\/a>,\u00a0achieving a top 10 ranking\u00a0in the impact areas of\u00a0Water and Wellbeing & Work. The recognition follows Carleton\u2019s Gold AASHE STARS assessment, which was achieved earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarleton is committed to being a leader in sustainability and we have strong engagement and collaboration across campus,\u201d says Carleton President Benoit-Antoine Bacon. \u201cThere is still a lot of work to be done, but we can collectively take pride in this important recognition of our achievements to date.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis recognition confirms that our holistic approach to sustainability at Carleton is on the mark,\u201d says Lorraine Dyke, Vice-President (Finance and Administration). \u201cThere is a lot to look forward to as our program grows to enhance sustainability.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to\u00a0Carleton University\u00a0for their incredible sustainability accomplishments,\u201d said AASHE\u2019s Executive Director Meghan Fay Zahniser. \u201cUpon reading about the innovative and high-impact initiatives within this report, I\u2019m encouraged that the global sustainability transformation that we desperately need is, in fact, happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

A publication from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), the Sustainable Campus Index recognizes top-performing sustainable colleges and universities overall and in 17 impact areas, as measured by the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS).<\/p>\n
