Deborah Stienstra is a Professor of Disability Studies at the University of Manitoba. This year she is also the proud mother of two graduates \u2013 a daughter graduating with her B.A. Honours at University of Ottawa, and a son graduating from high school. Deborah describes herself as passionately involved in feminist disability research, teaching\/learning and collaboration. She has published books, articles and reports broadly in the area of disability rights and policies, global development and disability, and women and disabilities.<\/p>\n
Deborah has led or co-led five large, multi-year research networks including on women and resource development, end of life care and people with disabilities, and disability and global development. She also builds partnerships with community-based organizations including DisAbled Women\u2019s Network of Canada, Council of Canadians with Disabilities and the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW).
