{"id":235,"date":"2017-03-09T16:20:04","date_gmt":"2017-03-09T21:20:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/tkaa\/?post_type=cu-people&#038;p=235"},"modified":"2017-03-25T16:54:01","modified_gmt":"2017-03-25T20:54:01","slug":"huynh-ngoc-hong-nhung","status":"publish","type":"cu-people","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tkaa\/people\/huynh-ngoc-hong-nhung\/","title":{"rendered":"Huynh Ngoc Hong Nhung"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2000, Nhung received a <span style=\"color: black;\">Bachelor of Pedagogy in English from Can Tho University, Vietnam<\/span>. \u00a0After\u00a0graduating, she\u00a0became an active member of the Can Tho Club of People with Disabilities which is now known as the\u00a0Can Tho Association of People with Disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>While working,\u00a0Nhung recognized there are\u00a0little opportunities available\u00a0for people with disabilities to acquire\u00a0education, jobs and services, especially youth with disabilities in the Mekong Delta region in Viet Nam. People with disabilities are not able to integrate into mainstream society and are not on equal footing\u00a0on many aspects of human endeavours. To solve these problems, Nhung believes that thinks that people with disabilities\u00a0should be offered more opportunities in study, work and other activities. She believes that more opportunities could be\u00a0provided by experts on disabled people.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Nhung applied and got a full scholarship of International Fellowship Programs of Ford Foundation (IFP) which gave\u00a0her\u00a0the useful opportunity to pursue her\u00a0Master&#8217;s of Science Degree in Regional and Rural Development Planning, which was her field of study at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, she received\u00a0an Australian Leadership Awards Fellowships Program to participate in short training on \u201cEnabling Social Inclusion: Gender and Disability Responsive Good Governance\u201d, at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia in 2013.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"people-type":[23],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 -
