{"id":258,"date":"2017-03-25T15:21:06","date_gmt":"2017-03-25T19:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/tkaa\/?page_id=258"},"modified":"2018-04-16T16:11:27","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T20:11:27","slug":"key-activities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tkaa\/key-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Key Activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some key activities that the <em>TDKRA\u00a0<\/em>project has been involved\u00a0in thus far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Training women with disabilities to become researchers and monitors of educational rights;<\/li>\n<li>Developing participatory methodologies to support the inclusion of girls with disabilities in the three selected disadvantaged districts in Vietnam;<\/li>\n<li>Researching the situation of girls with disabilities in these districts and the ways they can mobilize\/capitalize on their lived experiences for knowledge production, using the participatory methodologies developed and adapted by the research team;<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing knowledge production and mobilization activities in relation to this project in Vietnam and Canada;<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening the transnational aspects of collaborative research in the areas of participation, community engagement, and international development through critical, inclusive, participatory and decolonizing research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2018 Activities<\/h3>\n<p>Three local fieldwork events have been planned for 2018 as part of stage three of the TDKRA project. This includes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>One 2-day workshop in March 2018<br \/>\n<\/strong>This two day workshop included women and girls with disabilities. Activities included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>short interviews (story-telling) or visual narratives with groups of girls (2-3 girls) about their personal histories and experiences with disability; and<\/li>\n<li>an action plan for how the women and girls want to work together, and for connecting their disability knowledge, experiences, and activism with the local DPOs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>One 2-day workshop in May 2018<br \/>\n<\/strong>This workshop will also include women and girls with disabilities to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>reflect on the girls\u2019 stories;<\/li>\n<li>reflect on the participants\u2019 engagement with the project;<\/li>\n<li>develop mentoring relationships; and<\/li>\n<li>develop an action plan for next stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>One 4-day workshop in July 2018<\/strong><br \/>\nThis workshop will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>reflect on the girls\u2019 stories;<\/li>\n<li>reflect on the participants\u2019 engagement with the project;<\/li>\n<li>strengthen mentoring relationships and collective activism with the women and girls;<\/li>\n<li>develop advocacy strategies;<\/li>\n<li>create a documentary film with the participation of women and girls with disabilities in the three areas; and<\/li>\n<li>develop an action plan for next stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are some key activities that the TDKRA\u00a0project has been involved\u00a0in thus far: Training women with disabilities to become researchers and monitors of educational rights; Developing participatory methodologies to support the inclusion of girls with disabilities in the three selected disadvantaged districts in Vietnam; Researching the situation of girls with disabilities in these districts and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 -
