The university strongly encourages all faculty members, contract instructors and teaching assistants (teaching staff) to continue to work from home. Recognizing that there may be individual circumstances for teaching staff to require an alternative location to teach online, TA, or prepare teaching materials, the university has established the following guidelines:

Note: If access to technology is the driving reason for teaching staff wanting to teach online from an on-campus location, equipment may be borrowed for the duration of term to facilitate teaching at home. Complete this form to request teaching equipment.

If you have difficulty reaching the Jira form, please clear history and cache from your browser, or copy the button’s link into a ‘private’ or ‘incognito’ instance of a browser.

Faculty Members

Faculty members who require an on-campus location are directed to use their office. They must inform their Dean that they will be using their office. Find out more here.

Contract Instructors and Teaching Assistants

Contract instructor and teaching assistant departmental offices are not currently available. Contract instructors and teaching assistants who require an on-campus location to teach online may submit a request via this form. The request must be made at least three business days prior to a space being required on campus. If the space is required on a recurring basis, only one request is required.

A TLS team member will communicate with you to assess requirements and will guide you to a suitable location on campus. Depending on the requirements, classrooms may not be an ideal location to teach an online class.

COVID-19 Health and Safety

All teaching staff teaching or working on campus must complete the COVID-19: Infection Prevention and Control Training online course prior to arriving on campus and adhere to campus COVID-19 – Health and Safety Information, including policies and guidelines.
