This is NOT an introductory session. It is advised that you attend the Brightspace Gradebook Introduction workshop before attending this session.
The Brightspace gradebook is a powerful tool to help you manage grades and communicate feedback to students. From displaying grades, to providing important text-based comments, to calculating students’ final marks, the gradebook helps you keep track of, and communicate, important details about student progress in your course.
In this session, we’ll talk about configuring key settings and maximizing functionality to make teaching easier and your course more effective.
By the end of this session, you will know how to:
- Add categories
- Configure category settings
- Customize the student gradebook view
- Set up grade type items such as letter grades or pass/fail
- Set bonus grades
- Exempt grades from final grade calculation
- Change grade schemes
- Export and import grades
- Manage final grade visibility and adjust final grades
This workshop is intended for participants with intermediate skills and who have attended the Brightspace Gradebook Introduction training. The focus will be on optimizing Gradebook settings using screen sharing demonstrations.
