New Faculty Orientation 2021
Welcome to our fully online orientation for new faculty. If you’re a new faculty member who is about to start teaching at Carleton, we are here to help you! Whether you’re getting ready to teach your first course at Carleton, or first online course ever, you undoubtedly have questions about policies and procedures, teaching tips and educational technology.
Our new, fully online orientation will consist of two parts:
Part One (*now viewable*) will be online and asynchronous, and it includes a series of screen capture recordings and supporting materials that you can consult, at your convenience, in the online environment during the month of July. We ask that you take some time between now and future virtual synchronous “Q and A” sessions (there will a few of these: pick one that works for you and your schedule) to review those materials and prepare questions.
Part Two will be online and synchronous, with registrants and hosts gathering via Zoom at a few specific dates/times in the month of August for a few virtual sessions (see below). These will be spaces to ask representatives from TLS and other departments on campus to help you with your questions, and/or to connect with new colleagues. We will update the list below as those dates are finalized:
- Online Q & A sessions–choose one (repeat sessions):
- Unique “Meet & Greet” sessions:
Note: links and passwords for all face-to-face synchronous Zoom sessions will be emailed to you separately, closer to the dates in question.
